Silverman Hall exhibition
Thank you to all members who helped with the Silverman Hall exhibition, also to Michael and Janet Grierson for typing the programme.

The following paintings were sold in the main exhibition:-

Nearly all pictures had some votes.

Hollingworth Lake exhibition The Visitors Centre, Rakewood Road,Littleborough, Rochdale,tel.01706 373421 [open Wednesday 25th March to Tuesday 14th April 2009, 11.00am to 4.00pm]

The exhibition of 54 paintings was hung successfully and the boxes brought away. It will be taken down on the morning of Wednesday 15th April 2009, after 10.30am.  If you are unable to go, please contact Peter Catlow [exhibition manager]or Sandra Connelly. 

Gawthorpe Hall exhibition Tel. 01282 771004 (open Wednesday 1st April to Thursday 28th May 2009, Tuesdays to Thursdays, Saturdays & Sundays, Good Friday & Bank Holiday Mondays 1.00pm to 5.00pm) National Trust, entrance charge.

By the time you receive this the exhibition will be hung. I am looking forward to visiting it in such an interesting location, I believe there are some updated textile display showcases.
           
Please collect your paintings on Friday 29th May between 9.00am and 11.00am.

Peter Catlow, our exhibitions manager, has become international! with a successful one man exhibition at Haltern am See, Germany, during February and March. One painting was chosen as the Haltern Mayor's next Christmas card.
                
Towneley Hall - There's an exhibition worth visiting at Towneley Hall, over 40 watercolours of the celebrated local artist Noel H Leaver [1889-1951], 7th March to 24th May 2009, open Saturday - Thursday 12 - 5pm.    [£3.50 entry for annual ticket - non-Burnley residents]

Newsletter: February 2009

Dear Members,

Thank you to all members who helped with the Alston Hall exhibition.  Alston were very pleased with the standard of our work, and have booked us for December 2009/January 2010 and have requested us also to exhibit during the autumn of 2010.

Paintings Sold:     Eric Sunderland    "Breakwaters"
                              Susan Triggs        "Ready for work" & 2 ceramic cats.

As you will know the Silverman Hall opening was very successful with about 180 visitors, 9 paintings were sold and it was lovely that our former chairman Neil Terry was well enough to open the exhibition for us. Paintings to be collected on Friday 13th March at 4.00pm

Future exhibitions:-
There are some changes to what I have written before, so please read carefully, thank you.

You can enter two paintings to each of the two venues below.

Hollingworth Lake exhibition The Visitors Centre, Rakewood Road, Littleborough, Rochdale. [open Wednesday 25th March to Easter Monday 13th April 2009, 9.30am to 5.00pm]

The exhibition will be erected on the morning of Wednesday 25th March and taken down on morning of Tuesday 14th April 2009.

If you are unable to go, please contact Peter Catlow [exhibition manager] or Sandra Connelly, and deliver your paintings to them the day before on Tuesday 24th March. Paintings from the Silverman Hall exhibition would be very suitable.

The Centre charge 10% commission, [on top of Pendle Artists similar charge of 10%]                                                                                                                     

Gawthorpe Hall exhibition  (open Wednesday 1st April to Friday 28th May 2009, Tuesdays to Thursdays, Saturdays & Sundays, Good Friday & Bank Holiday Mondays 1.00pm to 5.00pm) National Trust, entrance charge.

This gallery is on the top floor of the house in an airy room with large wall spaces, [there is no lift].  The pictures from the Silverman Hall exhibition can be included if suitable, the Hall are advertising our exhibition as"including pictures of the Pendle area".

Please deliver your labelled paintings on the morning of Monday 30th March between 9.00am and 11.00am, and carry them up the stairs to the Gallery, unpack them and take home the boxes.

You may also bring properly labelled and mounted work for the portfolio, this to be listed on your entry form for the information of the Hall. The Hall charge 20% commission, [on top of Pendle Artists charge of 10%.]

Please return your 2 forms to me to arrive by the Thursday 19th March so that labels can be printed by Eric Sunderland.

Newsletter: January 2009

 

Dear Members,

There is a great deal to tell you so I will try to be explicit.

SILVERMAN HALL EXHIBITION.
This is our 41st annual exhibition at Silverman Hall and our final one at this venue. The building is to become the Ghosia Mosque Girls’ School and Community Centre. In 2010 we will show in the new Pendle District Council ACE Centre.

This final Silverman Hall exhibition runs from Saturday 28th February daily to Friday 13th March, 11:00am to 4:00pm. Your entry form must arrive by Thursday 12th February so that the catalogue can be printed. You must bring your pictures on Thursday 26th February between 10:00 and 10:30am. Please be prompt in case a selection is needed, and also bring £1 for each painting hung at Alston and in the main Silverman exhibition. All unselected pictures and as many more as you can manage will be exhibited in the Salon just on the opening preview night, Friday 27th February 7:00pm to 10:00pm.
                                                                                                                        
Gawthorpe Hall exhibition   (Sunday 29th March to Friday 29th May 2009)
This prestigious new venue is on the top floor of the house in an airy room with large wall spaces. The hall has requested, if possible, a Pendle theme, interpreted as you like. The pictures from the Silverman Hall exhibition are to be included if suitable. Next month’s Newsletter will explain in detail.
